Overview

This course defines and differentiates between palliative care and hospice care. It also describes the appropriate use of opioid medications for pain control in older adults. After completing this module, practitioners will be able to assess pain in patients with dementia, manage agitation in older adults at the end of life, and describe the rationale and steps for admitting older adults with dementia into hospice.
