Overview
This course describes how persistent pain presents and understand how to assess pain in older adults, including those living with dementia and/or multiple chronic conditions with standardized pain scales. After completing this course, practitioners will be able to describe and evaluate the efficacy of traditional and non-traditional pain treatment options, understand how to manage pain at the end of life and referrals to pain clinics, and understand the cultural influence on pain perception and reporting.
