This series is directed to nursing home supervisory staff and nursing school faculty to facilitate collaboration and planning for student clinical rotations in nursing homes. These courses focus on resident directed care and culture change, and maximize the partnership between academic institutions and skilled nursing communities.

These resources assist faculty and nursing home staff to plan and provide effective and meaningful clinical experiences for nursing students in long-term care settings.

Individuals who complete this series will be able to:

  1. Describe how to maximize student clinical rotations in nursing homes.
  2. Apply methods that increase nursing students’ exposure to and interaction with the nursing home care team.
  3. Demonstrate faculty behaviors that foster students’ appreciation of the complexity of care in skilled nursing communities.
