HIGN collaborates with neighborhood organizations to develop and deliver resources that contribute to healthy aging, including improving health literacy, promoting healthy behaviors, and addressing social determinants of health.

To successfully expand age-friendly health systems into the community, older adults and their caregivers need resources and education.

These workshops were developed to increase health literacy in older adults and enable them to be active partners in managing their own wellness with their healthcare providers.
Volunteer Health Corps
The Volunteer Health Corps addresses gaps in healthcare by working with community stakeholders and older adults to build an infrastructure to educate and empower individuals to take care of their health in community-based settings.
