HIGN Scholars Program

nurse and older adult

Apply today for a highly selective honors program and learn from leaders in
geriatric nursing about all the exciting ways you can serve older adults as a
nurse!

The Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing (HIGN) Scholars Program seeks
to engage and develop baccalaureate students interested in specializing in
the care of the older adult. This program offers a unique experience not
found anywhere else in the United States for students to explore the
greatest pressing issues in geriatric nursing practice across care settings.

clinical experience and mentorship in geriatrics and palliative care. Learn
about how to improve care and health equity for older adults through
practice, policy, and research and how you as a nurse can be a leader in
the field.

Students accepted into this program with an interest in community-based or
long-term care nursing have the additional opportunity to applying for the J.
Paul Trust Scholarship.
