Post-Master's Certificate in Gerontology

This 12-credit Post-Master's Advanced Certificate focusing on interprofessional primary care for older adults with multiple chronic conditions prepares nurse practitioners to provide specialized, high quality, culturally comptent care to the vulnerable older adult population.

Eligibility Criteria:

 

    •     Students in good standing and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the nursing sequence.
    •     Accelerated baccalaureate students currently in the second nursing sequence are eligible for the summer cohort.
    •     Traditional baccalaureate students currently in the second nursing sequence are eligible for the fall cohort.

Focuses on the unique needs of older adults with multiple chronic conditions.

Who should apply?

 

    •     Adult nurse practitioners who seek the gerontology content to meet eligibility requirements for the national Adult-Gerontology Primary Care certification exam
    •     Nurse practitioners who want to further their availability to provide comprehensive primary care to older adults
    •     Nurse practitioners who want to further their knowledge in gerontology
