Policy and Advocacy: Building Bridges to a Better Life for Older Adults

The Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing values the critical role advocacy and policy have in workforce development, healthy aging, and the provision of the right care at the right time, in the right place. HIGN seeks to shape policy by educating elected officials about issues impacting the lives and well-being of older adults. HIGN also addresses issues through communication with policy organizations and stakeholders.

With the worldwide explosion in the aging population, it is imperative that we bring together all the stakeholders to create policy that delivers on the promise of providing quality care to older adults.
