Health Service Research

The Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing focuses work in two branches of health services research. The first involves examining care quality and cost through analysis of large nationwide data-sets, such as Medicare data, examining trends and issues in care in order to affect policy and reimbursement in care of the older adult. The second is in implementation science, where we seek to package evidence-based practices for use in care environments, bringing years of research that sits in academic publications but not in the care environment to life to improve the quality of care provided to older adults.
