Course Description

This module highlights the importance of maintaining oral health as we age. Oral health's connection to overall health, common problems in the older adult population, and preventative measure are highlighted. Also included is a section on maintaining oral health for person's with dementia.

Overview

This module is part of our Oral Health Series for older adults. The goals of this series are to raise awareness of common problems and risk factors that are prevalent in this population. These modules were created as a collaboratively by: Oral Health of America, the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing (HIGN) at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing, Oral Health Nursing Education and Practice (OHNEP) at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing, and the NYU College of Dentistry.
